1963, after the JFK assassination, gave Jack Ruby a psychiatric examination in his cell, saying that Ruby had suffered an "acute psychotic break".  (Ruby never fully explained why he'd decided to kill Oswald.)

70s, head of psychiatry department's neuroscience center, has auditorium named in his honor

70s, linked to MKULTRA, which West denied until his death

1999, dianosed with metastatic cancer, commited suicide with pills, assissted by his son
