Keep it simple. No db, no login, only fundamental smart flash card algorithm. More complicated features can be added to [Bahasa](https://github.com/voyc/bahasa/wiki) a fork of Flash.

Provide an API so that algorithms can be initiated remotely, with or without the UI.
